31 Dec 2007 What Could Be More Fun Than…

Superheroes on your ceiling fan? Well, I don’t know either.  However, as the mother of boys, I know I will probably find out soon.  With the mood that my boys are in today, I might find out more than I want to know before dinner! ;)

So… Would any of you be so good as to come to my rescue for some good ideas for entertaining boys?

29 Dec 2007 Our Most Popular Christmas Gift This Year…

… was the head cold that one of the children brought home and shared with the whole Eaglewood family!  It wasn’t the most welcome gift that any of us received, but we sure shared it with enthusiasm!  One of the hazards of having a larger family is that there are more of us to find those cold and flu bugs and bring them home.  I guess I should be glad that the children have learned to share! Smiley  Being sick during a holiday is never fun, but we found ways to enjoy ourselves anyway.  Everyone seems to be feeling much better now, and I hope to get better about posting again in the near future.  In the meantime, you might want to sanitize your keyboard and mouse after visiting…

22 Dec 2007 Christmas Stalkers
 |  Category: Family, Home-front  | 4 Comments
The little and not so little people around our house have abandoned good manners and began their annual Christmas ritual of staking out their gifts and stalking others for hints!  They are utterly delighted at the prospect of having their daddy around for four consecutive days without their mommy being in the hospital! Smiley   Money has been particularly tight this year.  Losing Samuel a year and a half ago and having another baby along with the job losses, loss of both of our family vehicles and break down of the current one and the loss and replacement of most of our major appliances and a few minor ones really took its toll upon us.  However, we are happy, content, and together.  Those things are the recipe for a perfect Christmas.  When you consider that there are still gifts for each child, cookies to bake together, movies to watch together, games to play together, and a new baby who has begun smiling at us, well… those things always make for the happiest of Christmases.  The children still gather around their daddy each night where the Bible stories are read and discussed.  Sneefert may complain that he already knows THIS one, but he will still listen eagerly anyway! Smiley  If you are were the richest person in the world, you couldn’t buy a Christmas as merry as the one we are having.  You might be able to afford a much better place to hide the gifts from the stalkers, though! 17 Dec 2007 I’m Not Here!

Really.

I had forgotten just how exhausting a new baby can be.  I’m walking around in a state that zombies can only aspire to.  All brain capacity is used up by daily homeschooling and household management.  All classes are probably being conducted in baby talk.  I’m not sure, however, since I’m pretty sure I’m sleep walking right now.  Science this week will probably revolve around figuring out how to get baby spit-up stains out of clothing.  Your prayers and laundry tips are always appreciated.

I wish I had more time to blog these days, but things have been incredibly busy here.  My family needs me.  I’ll be back as soon as I can…. in body at least.  Concerning my mental faculties, I can make no such assurances! ;)

On a somewhat unrelated note.  I’m no longer able to visit some of your blogs (especially homeschooling blogs).  Do any of you really computer savvy people out there happen to know why?  More importantly, how do I fix this?
